Cambridge Driving School – Terms and Conditions
ABOUT US
Cambridge Driving School is a driving tuition provider offering manual and automatic driving lessons, refresher lessons, motorway tuition, mock tests, and related driver training services throughout the UK.
Throughout these Terms and Conditions, “Cambridge Driving School”, “we”, “our”, or “us” refers to Cambridge Driving School and its associated self-employed driving instructors.
All driving instructors providing tuition through Cambridge Driving School are self-employed instructors. The contract for driving tuition is between you and your instructor.
LEARNER DRIVER – TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Eligibility for Driving Lessons
To take driving lessons, you must:
Be at least 17 years old (or 16 if eligible under UK disability regulations)
Hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence, or an appropriate foreign licence recognised in the UK
Be legally entitled to drive in the UK
You must provide proof of your driving licence before your first lesson. If you fail to provide a valid licence, your instructor may refuse to conduct the lesson and may charge the full lesson fee.
You must inform your instructor immediately of any changes affecting your entitlement to drive, including licence suspension, medical conditions, or endorsements.
2. BOOKINGS AND PAYMENTS
Lesson Bookings
Driving lessons may be booked:
Directly with your instructor
Through Cambridge Driving School’s website
Through our office or approved communication channels
Lesson times, pick-up locations, and lesson duration must be agreed between you and your instructor.
Cambridge Driving School does not guarantee the availability of any specific instructor, vehicle, lesson time, or test date.
Payment Methods
Payments may be made via:
Debit card
Credit card
Bank transfer
Cash directly to your instructor (where accepted)
Your instructor will advise which payment methods they accept.
All lesson prices are quoted in pounds sterling (£).
Prepaid Lessons
Where lessons are prepaid:
Funds will be allocated against lessons taken
Lessons are deducted after completion
Unused prepaid lesson balances may be refundable subject to these Terms
Prepaid lessons are non-transferable between students unless agreed in writing by Cambridge Driving School.
Lesson packages must normally be used within 6 months from the date of purchase unless otherwise agreed.
3. REFUND POLICY
Refunds may be requested for unused prepaid lessons.
Refunds:
Apply only to unused lesson balances
Will normally be returned using the original payment method
May take up to 14 working days to process
No refunds are provided for:
Lessons already taken
Missed lessons
Late cancellations
Gift vouchers
Expired lesson packages
Cambridge Driving School reserves the right to deduct any outstanding fees before issuing refunds.
4. CANCELLATION POLICY
You must provide at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or rearrange a lesson.
If less than 48 hours’ notice is given, the full lesson fee may be charged.
If you fail to attend a lesson without notice, the lesson will be treated as completed and charged in full.
Your instructor may cancel or rearrange lessons due to:
Illness
Vehicle breakdown
Adverse weather
Emergencies
Unsafe road conditions
Circumstances outside reasonable control
Where possible, alternative lesson arrangements will be offered.
5. DRIVING TESTS
Use of an instructor’s vehicle for a driving test is entirely at the instructor’s discretion.
Your instructor may refuse use of their vehicle if they believe:
You are not test-ready
You may present a danger to yourself or others
You are under the influence of alcohol or drugs
You do not meet DVSA requirements
Driving test fees paid to the DVSA are separate from lesson fees and remain your responsibility.
Cambridge Driving School cannot guarantee a driving test pass.
6. CONDUCT DURING LESSONS
You and your instructor are expected to behave respectfully and professionally at all times.
Cambridge Driving School and its instructors reserve the right to terminate lessons immediately if a student:
Behaves aggressively or abusively
Uses threatening or discriminatory language
Is under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Acts dangerously
Damages the vehicle intentionally
No refund will be provided for lessons terminated due to inappropriate behaviour.
Smoking, vaping, and illegal substances are not permitted during lessons.
7. LESSON PRICES
Lesson prices may vary depending on:
Instructor
Transmission type
Location
Lesson duration
Time of booking
Prices may change from time to time. Any changes will not affect prepaid lessons already purchased unless otherwise stated.
8. GIFT VOUCHERS
Gift vouchers:
Must be redeemed before the expiry date shown
Have no cash value
Are non-refundable unless required by law
Cannot be replaced if lost or stolen
Are non-transferable unless agreed otherwise
Driving lessons redeemed using vouchers remain subject to these Terms and Conditions.
9. LIABILITY
Cambridge Driving School and its instructors are not liable for:
Driving test failures
Driving test cancellations by the DVSA
Delays caused by traffic, weather, or road conditions
Loss of earnings
Indirect or consequential losses
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for:
Death or personal injury caused by negligence
Fraud
Any liability which cannot legally be excluded under English law
10. USE OF PERSONAL DATA
Personal information provided to Cambridge Driving School may be used to:
Arrange lessons and tests
Contact you regarding bookings
Process payments
Maintain business records
Improve services
Comply with legal obligations

Your information will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws.
11. WEBSITE TERMS
Use of the Cambridge Driving School website constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
All website content, including logos, text, images, and branding, remains the property of Cambridge Driving School unless otherwise stated.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or commercially use website content without written permission.
12. THIRD-PARTY LINKS
Our website or social media pages may contain links to third-party websites.
Cambridge Driving School is not responsible for the content, availability, or security of external websites.
13. SOCIAL MEDIA
From time to time, Cambridge Driving School may post student success stories, photographs, or driving test pass announcements on social media.
By agreeing to lessons with Cambridge Driving School, you consent to reasonable promotional use unless you request otherwise in writing.
14. CHANGES TO TERMS
Cambridge Driving School reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.
The latest version will always apply and may be published on our website.
15. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
